Introducing Marina Carmen Lopez-Salazar...our Song of the Sea.

Our little miracle, Marina Carmen Lopez-Salazar, was born at home on Sunday April 5, 2009 (her actual due date) at 1:45pm. She weighed 8 pounds, 7.5 ounces at birth and measured 21 inches long. She had a long journey out of the womb, but is healthy and happy to be at home with mom and dad.

Nuestro pequeño milagro, Marina Carmen López-Salazar nació en la casa el 5 de abril a la 1:45 de la tarde. Pesó 3.8 kilos y midió 53.3 cm. Fue un largo viaje , pero ya llegó y está sanita y feliz junto a nosotros.

After 2 days of early labor/contractions and 13 hours of active/intense labor, Leila couldn't take her eyes off Marina the day after the birth.

On March 22, our friends, colleagues and community came together at Jenna and Dan's beautiful home in San Francisco for our final baby shower. Thanks to Andrea and Jenna for organizing everything and to Jaime for keeping the B'BQue going. Thanks to everyone for your presence and for the beautiful gifts.

We spent 5 quality days together walking and playing in Golden Gate Park, going to the Orpheum Theatre to see WICKED, eating lots of home cooked meals, shopping, running errands and organizing/cleaning our newly renovated home. Wow! I thought I was going to get a pre-natal massage at Kabuki. To my surprise, I arrived at Stephanie's house to find 20 of my closest and dearest friends from the Bay Area. Thanks all for the delicious food, blessings and gifts and painted onesizes for the baby! Thanks especially to Stephanie for hosting, Andrea for cooking and keeping a great secret and Ana for leading the blessing! I love you all!
